Officer Herrick is a 9 year veteran of the Department and was selected by her peer's with support from both the P.O.A.M. and the C.O.A.M. Officer Herrick's commitment to the Department is demonstrated through her involvement as an Evidence Technician and a member of the Major Crime Team (explain). She is a certified bicycle officer and is a member of the Departments Honor Guard. For several years now Cpl. Herrick has been the department's lead person in adopting a family chosen by the Salvation Army during the Christmas season. Cpl. Herrick coordinates the donations, shops for presents based upon the family's need's and then personally delivers them to the family. This is all done during her off time.

As an Evidence Technician Officer Herrick has gathered evidence in multiple cases which assisted in their successful prosecution.  Cpl Herrick was the lead investigator and Evidence Technician on an Attempted Murder case last summer.  This was a brutal case in which the victim was severely beaten over a four hour period and at one point was dragged around the house by a belt around her neck. Officer Herrick collected and processed 22 pieces of evidence from both the victim and the scene on this case.  She then aggressively investigated the incident from start to finish, locating the suspect and arresting him.  The case was then successfully prosecuted entirely due to the evidence collected and the thorough investigation conducted by Officer Herrick.
